Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still here!
I've been a little quiet in blogland this week because I've been working like a mad woman on a baby shower that I'm co-hosting for my best friend, Gracie, this weekend. It's been a little crazy because not only have I been making the decorations and shower favors but also in true crafter fashion, I'm making my gift as well.
I just finished the biggest part of my gift today and I'm so excited about it that I had to share it with you guys.
I finished my very first baby blanket!!!
When my friend found out she was pregnant, she asked me to knit her baby a special baby blanket. Apparently, she had a special baby blanket that she had received from her grandmother, who is no longer with us, and since my friend's Mom can't knit, she asked me to make her daughter's special blanket. How could I say no to that kind of request?
I found a free pattern tear sheet at Michael's and bought the Bernat Baby Blanket yarn online since I couldn't find enough of it in the color I wanted in the store. I have to tell you, I LOVE this yarn! It knit up so quickly and everyone who has seen it while I was working on it, compliments how soft and cozy it looks. Plus, it's machine washable and dryable! How great is that?!
I am so proud of how this blanket turned out! I know Gracie will love it, and I hope that little Sophie will enjoy it just as much after she decides to grace us with her presence.
***note: I receive no endorsement or sponsorship from Bernat. All opinions expressed here are mine.***
THAT is beautiful!! You should be proud of it! I, on the other hand, am working on a knitted armadillo and wish I had been asked to make a blanket instead :)
