I am all about pincushions that are a little different. I remember when I was little my Mom having one of those strawberry pincushions. Even my Grandpa had an ugly little tomato that he stuck his pins in.
When I made my pincushion I followed a this tutorial from Kara of Creations by Kara. It turned out so cute and I use it often. However I really wish that I'd waited because after I made mine, I found this tutorial by Nichelle of Vintage Wanna Bee, who made a pincushion out of a picture frame.
Of course, I had to try and make one.

They are so easy to make and you can decorate them a ton of different ways, using different fabric and embellishments. So don't settle for an ugly tomato from the sewing section of your local craft store, make your own adorable pincushion and be different!
