Bethanyism #8

It's Monday, which means I have another Bethanyism to share with the rest of the world!

Since it's still February, this Bethanyism is following the theme of the month, which is love.

For those new readers, you can read this post for the explanation on what a Bethanyism is. I post a new one every Monday with the hope that they will inspire, make you think or spark some creativity, either in myself or others.

Those who love you are not fooled by the mistakes you have made or the dark images you hold of yourself. They remember your beauty when you feel ugly; your wholeness when you are broken; your innocence when you feel guilty; and your purpose when you are confused. - Alan Cohen

This quote is one that has really struck a chord with me. In the last six months, my life has been a giant roller coaster, spinning me up, down and every direction in between. I feel like I'm getting to know myself all over again. And yet, there have been constants. The people who love me, truly love me, have supported me through this journey that I've found myself on. They have been my shoulders to cry on, my ears to bend, my sounding boards, and my cheering section. They have challenged me, and trusted me, stood by my side and or let me stand all on my own. All the while, recognizing that I might not be the same person I was six months ago, but loving me all the same.

To each of these people, I feel like I need to say thank you. The beautiful part is that they would all question why I'm thanking them, since all they are doing is loving me.

What do you think about the quote for this week?

Love it?

Hate it?

Wish I'd quit posting them?
