Man-Proofing My Tools

Awhile back I stumbled across this post on the amazing blog A Beautiful Mess. I loved the idea of covering my tools with fabric so that Amazing Boyfriend Fiance wouldn't think twice about borrowing them.

The problem is that I didn't have any fabric that I loved enough to cover my tools with...

but I did have zebra print duck tape!

Zebra print is one of the patterns that ABF happens to really hate. It happens to be my favorite. Can you see where this is going? (Insert evil laugh here)

Didn't they turn out awesome?!

All I did was wrap the duck tape around the handles!

It was as easy as that!

Now ABF can keep his hands off my tools. Besides, he has enough tools of his own. (I should know, I borrow them all the time!)

  1. I love this idea! I do, however, have to side with the fiance on the zebra pattern; sorry!! lol

This idea could finally make mine stop asking "why is my drill bit upstairs in your toolbox rather than downstairs in mine"
Response: "because it's mine, dear. Don't you see the 'insert pretty pattern here' handle?"

now to transfer all his tools I love from downstairs to upstairs... muahaha :)

  8. So funny! I've been wanting my own set of tools for years. This is a perfect way to keep my husband and sons from walking off with them!

  9. Love it! haha, but I don't think it'll work for DH. His dad spray painted a bunch of his tools pink to keep him from borrowing them and that didn't work. Hubby just doesn't care what they look like. :P

  10. Mwaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh ( evil laugh ). Brilliant! And I love the zebra print. This is such a great idea because my tools all have different handles so this way they can look like a set.
