Scrub -A- Dub Dub

The last couple years for Christmas, Amazing Boyfriend Fiance and I have done any Christmas shopping at the local holiday market. I also happen to pick up little things for my Mom's stocking while I'm at the holiday market or at craft shows.

This last year, I got her a bar of felted soap. I didn't think anything of it, but awhile back she mentioned that she was almost out of her felted soap and that she needed to get more.

Instead of trying to find a crafter that makes felted soap, I figured that I'd just felt some myself. I couldn't be that hard, right?

Didn't I do a great job?

(Totally sarcasm, by the way.)

Yeah, this craft totally didn't turn out the way that I wanted, but I plowed through it attempted to do the best I could. I followed this tutorial, although I didn't try to make a shape. I attempted a marbled look. I did learn a few things, however and think I'm going to re-attempt this using a different type of soap and less roving.

In the mean time, you're all welcome to laugh at me...

Have you ever had a major craft fail?

P.S. A Fish Who Likes Flowers is now on Facebook! Check it out here

  4. You never know until you try right? I prefer to think of craft fails as "creative alternatives" lol.

  5. I don't think they look so bad. They're just not the picture you had in your head. Looking forward to seeing your next try. Thanks for linking up at Etcetorize this week!

  6. I'm always the same way... picture in my head to actual piece is hardly ever the same! I think they are very Anthro looking {I was just there admiring their soaps} and I actually think yours are more interesting! Thanks for sharing this idea Bethany, at tip toe this week!
    xoxo
